Adam Jay

Born inIndianapolis onMarch 12, 1981, Adam Jay has emerged in the last 2 years as the city's most prominent producer of techno and electronic music, and as one of the nation's fastest rising techno producers. Having a lifetime of classical music training, and a college radio DJ for a sister exposed Adam to a diverse palette of sounds as a young, impressionable boy. Adam found his way into electronic music through the usual route of late 1980's industrial music, and promoting parties & events inIndianapolis.

Though skilled as a DJ, Adam's passion lies in the studio. His releases range from dirty bass driven club tracks to melodic and groovy pieces that skew the lines between techno and house. His label, Azure, was started in 1999 with the goal of redefining an American label as being diverse within the structures of techno while also exposing new American artists.

At the young age of 21, his tracks have been charted and played around the world by Carl Cox, Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, and DJ Misjah; and reviewed by XLR8R, BPM Culture,England's Overload, andGermany's Raveline magazines. The 2002 Detroit Electronic Music Festival heard DJs play his Zync and Primevil releases every night of the event.

The launch of his new label Chromagnon, releases on Intergroove labels Intrinsic Design and Integrated.
